Badgercare
Today Citizen Action of Wisconsin participated in press conference with Rep. Jon Richards and Sen. Jon Erpenbach introducing a bill to reverse Scott Walkers savage cuts to BadgerCare. The BadgerCare Protection Act is funded by repealing tax loopholes Walker created which allow large corporations to shelter their profits in other states.
As I said in our media statement earlier today, it is unconscionable for Scott Walker to force tens of thousands off BadgerCare in order to open up tax loopholes which enable some of the largest corporations in Wisconsin to shelter profits out of state. The BadgerCare Protection Act restores basic fairness. By merely asking large corporations to pay their fair share of state taxes we can protect the health security of tens of thousands of Wisconsin families during the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.
Because the Legislative session is almost over, legislators only have until Wednesday at Noon to sign-on as co-sponsors of the BadgerCare Protection Act.
Can you please take a moment to send a note to your State Senator and State Representative asking them to co-sponsor the BadgerCare Protection Act. The more legislators sign on as co-sponsors the greater the chance this critical bill will receive a hearing and a vote.
Sincerely,
Robert Kraig Executive Director

Support the Badgercare Protection Act
Dear Representative,
As a constituent, I am urging you to co-sponsor the BadgerCare Protection Act, which is sponsored by Sen. Jon Erpenbach and Rep. Jon Richards. The bill prevents tens of thousands of people from being forced off BadgerCare by making sure that large multistate corporations pay their fair share of Wisconsin taxes.
